Hundreds of thousands of people have used the e-ticket services offered by Indian Railway. Many folks today prefer e-tickets as it convenient and also saves a lot of time that earlier you used to kill standing in line. E-ticket is just a printed copy which can be used as a ticket. In order to book an e-ticket, all you need to do is that you register yourself at the Indian Railway Ticketing website www.irctc.co.in.
Once you are logged in, you’ll can click on “plan my travel and book my ticket” to purchase an e-ticket. Fill in all the details. Select the e-ticket option and click on ‘go’. Choose your train and then click on ‘book ticket’.Fill in the train number, passengers detail and the and then click on ‘make payment’ to buy your e-ticket. After successful transaction a confirmation message appears on the screen and then you can take the print out of the e-ticket. IRCTC also send a confirmation email along with your ticket.
You can also cancel an e-ticket. For canceling an e-ticket visit the website and login. Click on ‘booked tickets’ link and select the ticket that you need to cancel. Once canceled your ticket amount will be credited back to your account.
